Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) made the following statement today regarding the tragic death of Morgan County Clerk Stephanie Elliott:
STATEHOUSE (July 3, 2022) – "I woke this morning with sadness hoping the news of the horrific traffic accident that took the life of Stephanie Elliott and seriously injured her husband, John Elliott, was just a dream. I have known them both since high school.
"I pray for Stephanie and John and their beautiful family who will feel this loss most acutely.
"Stephanie has been taken from us at the pinnacle of her public service to Morgan County. As county clerk, she served the courts and ran our elections with skill and unimpeachable integrity. Most recently, she sought the support of Morgan County to serve as our county auditor. She will be extremely difficult to replace, and she will be deeply missed by her friends, coworkers and loved ones. May she rest in peace knowing hers was a life well lived."
