FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) made the following statement today regarding Gov. Braun's extension of the suspension of Indiana's sales tax and excise tax on gas:
STATEHOUSE (June 3, 2026) – "My caucus members and I continue to hear concerns from Hoosiers regarding affordability as we speak with members of our communities. Even though Indiana has one of the lowest costs of living in the country, high gas prices continue to be a major concern for many households across our state, which is why I support the governor's move to temporarily extend the suspension of the sales tax and excise tax on gas and provide some short-term relief for Hoosiers.
"Since this tax revenue is dedicated to the upkeep of state and local roads, we must continue to be good stewards of our state's financial resources and find additional efficiencies to ensure we are still able to adequately provide the road infrastructure Hoosiers depend on every day."
