Statement from Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) made the following statement today in response to Gov. Mike Braun's 2026 State of the State address:

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 14, 2026) – "Indiana has a strong success story to tell, and I was pleased to hear Gov. Braun highlighting Indiana's accomplishments in economic growth, educational freedom and responsible government in his address. While other states are dealing with rampant welfare fraud, Senate Republicans continue advocating for proactive steps to ensure we run our programs with integrity and fidelity. When Hoosier students' test scores were low, we leaned in and provided reinforcements to help our kids' reading scores improve – to sixth in the nation. My caucus is proud to be collaborating with the governor and House of Representatives on these and other issues that matter to Hoosiers, and we look forward to another strong year for Indiana in 2026."
