Indiana Senate President Pro Tem David Long (R-Fort Wayne) issued the following statement today regarding the shooting at Noblesville West Middle School:
STATEHOUSE (May 25, 2018) – “I’m terribly saddened for the students, teachers and families of Noblesville West Middle School, but very grateful for the professional response by the Noblesville Police Department, the Indiana State Police and the school’s leadership. Like everyone, we are praying for the student and teacher who were injured in today’s incident, and hope they have a full and fast recovery. I’m glad the legislature has stepped up with an additional amount of money for school safety, and I look forward to the upcoming school safety audit by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security to determine where any deficiencies may remain. The safety of our kids must continue to be our number one priority.”
