State Sen. Jeff Raatz (R-Centerville) made the following statement today regarding
Gov. Eric Holcomb’s announcement of the potential new home of a fourth state port in Lawrenceburg and Aurora:
STATEHOUSE (Sept. 22, 2017) — “Yesterday, Gov. Holcomb announced the Ports of Indiana is moving forward with the purchase of 725 acres of land in Lawrenceburg and Aurora with the intention of making it the home of a fourth state port.
“Adding a fourth port would be a tremendous opportunity for southeastern Indiana’s economy. The benefits this new port would provide are outstanding – new jobs, economic development opportunities, and a better connection between our state and the rest of the country.
“This opportunity is made possible by Gov. Holcomb and the General Assembly’s pro-economic growth agenda. As State Senator representing Senate District 27, I will continue to support the policies that have made Indiana a leader in fiscal and economic development.”
