Statehouse Spotlight with Sen. Schmitt: Honoring Hoosier Veterans on Wreaths Across America Day

By State Sen. Daryl Schmitt (R-Jasper)

Here in Indiana, we work hard to ensure our veterans and active-duty soldiers know how much we appreciate them.

That's why this year I am excited to help celebrate Wreaths Across America Day.

Wreaths Across America Day has been celebrated in early December since 2008 and honors all American veterans who have passed away by laying wreaths on their graves in cemeteries across the country.

Whether a veteran served as far back as the Revolution, or during more recent wars, they deserve to be recognized for their service to our state and nation. Wreaths Across America helps ensure that all veterans who have been laid to rest are remembered for their sacrifices.

This year, several events will take place across Senate District 48 during the weekend of Dec. 13 and 14. To find information on sponsors for local Wreaths Across America events, visit bit.ly/SDIN48 and type in your ZIP code.

If you would like to help honor our veterans, I encourage you to attend an event near you. I also ask that you always thank and support our veterans who are still with us.

Resources available for Hoosier veterans can be found online at IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Veterans.

As always, constituents can reach out to me with any questions or concerns by email at s48@iga.in.gov or by phone at 1-800-382-9467.
