Statement from State Sen. Ron Alting

State Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) made the following statement today in response to Gov. Eric Holcomb’s 2024 State of the State address:

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 10, 2024) – "I was happy to hear the governor discuss how mental health initiatives approved by members of the Indiana General Assembly in 2023 are already impacting the lives of Hoosiers throughout Indiana.

"While last year's efforts are momentous, there is still work to be done to ensure Hoosiers dealing with mental health issues have easy access to the medical help they need.

"This year, I have authored Senate Bill 166 and Senate Bill 167, which would expand the number of mental health and addiction professionals by removing administrative hurdles to practicing in Indiana.

"I look forward to working with other legislators this year to tackle these challenges and make Indiana an even better place to live, work and raise a family."
