State Sen. Mike Bohacek to serve on study committees

STATEHOUSE (June 16, 2021) — State Sen. Mike Bohacek (R-Michiana Shores) will serve as a member of several study committees in preparation for the 2022 legislative session.

Bohacek's assignments include the following:

  • Interim Study Committee on Corrections and Criminal Code;
  • Interim Study Committee on Courts and the Judiciary;
  • Interim Study Committee on Public Health, Behavioral Health and Human Services;
  • Lake Michigan Marina and Shoreline Development Commission; and
  • Services for Individuals with Intellectual and Other Developmental Disabilities Task Force.

“Study committees allow lawmakers to take a detailed look at issues without the time constraints of session," Bohacek said. "I look forward to working with my fellow lawmakers on ways to improve how our court and public health systems can have a more positive impact on Hoosiers."

Legislators will meet over the summer and fall months to discuss topics approved by the bipartisan Legislative Council, which is comprised of 16 voting members – eight from the Senate and eight from the House of Representatives.
