STATEHOUSE (June 16, 2021) — State Sen. Jeff Raatz (R-Richmond) will serve as chair of the Interim Study Committee on Education during the summer and fall to help prepare lawmakers for the 2022 legislative session.
He will also serve on the following:
"Over the next several months, lawmakers will discuss how to best eliminate, reduce or streamline the number of education mandates placed on schools," Raatz said. "I look forward to the collaborative discussions my colleagues and I in the Senate will have with the House of Representatives and stakeholders, as we work to improve educational outcomes for Hoosier students."
Legislators will meet over the summer and fall months to discuss topics approved by the bipartisan Legislative Council, which is comprised of 16 voting members – eight from the Senate and eight from the House of Representatives.
