STATEHOUSE (July 9, 2025) — State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg) will serve as chair of the Interim Study Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources, vice chair of the State Fair Advisory Committee, and as a member of the Medicaid Advisory Commission in preparation for the 2026 legislative session.
"This interim, the Interim Study Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources will focus on the value of our public land in Indiana, including the economic impacts and benefits of having recreational access to these properties," Leising said. "I have worked to protect our public land in recent sessions, and this study committee will allow us to take an in-depth look at our state parks and how they benefit our economy."
Legislators will meet over the summer and fall months to discuss topics approved by the bipartisan Legislative Council, which is comprised of 16 voting members – eight from the Senate and eight from the House of Representatives.
