State Sen. Gary Byrne to serve on study committees

STATEHOUSE (July 9, 2025) — State Sen. Gary Byrne (R-Byrneville) will serve as a member of several study committees in preparation for the 2026 legislative session.

Byrne's assignments also include the Interim Study Committee on Energy, Utilities, and Telecommunications and the Lewis and Clark Expedition Commission.

“Interim study committees allow legislators to take a closer look at topics that may be addressed during the 2026 legislative session," Byrne said. "I look forward to working with my fellow lawmakers to delve more deeply into these topics, including reviewing the annual report for the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission and helping promote Indiana's role in the Lewis and Clark Expedition."

Legislators will meet over the summer and fall months to discuss topics approved by the bipartisan Legislative Council, which is comprised of 16 voting members – eight from the Senate and eight from the House of Representatives.
