State Sen. Gary Byrne to serve on study committees

STATEHOUSE (July 13, 2023) — State Sen. Gary Byrne (R-Byrneville) will serve as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications and the Lewis and Clark Expedition Commission in preparation for the 2024 legislative session.

"Interim study committees help lawmakers work with and hear from experts on issues facing our state so we can make informed policy decisions during the legislative session," Byrne said. "I am pleased to continue working on the Lewis and Clark Expedition Commission for our community and studying policy important to improving our state's energy system."

Legislators will meet over the summer and fall months to discuss topics approved by the bipartisan Legislative Council, which is comprised of 16 voting members – eight from the Senate and eight from the House of Representatives.
