STATEHOUSE (Aug. 7, 2025) — State Sen. Eric Koch (R-Bedford) was reappointed to the Indiana Geological and Water Survey Advisory Council.
The IGWSAC makes recommendations concerning the operations, performance, appropriations and funding for the Indiana Geological and Water Survey.
The IGWS is a state agency charged with geological research and dissemination of information about the state's energy, mineral and water resources.
Senate Enrolled Act 278, passed during the 2022 legislative session, established the Center for Water within the IGWS to support long-term studies of the state's water sources and provide resources to state agencies, municipalities and water conservation groups upon request.

Koch is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Utilities, ranking member of the Senate committees on Commerce and Technology and Judiciary, and a member of the Senate Committee on Corrections and Criminal Law. He represents Senate District 44, which includes Brown, Jackson, Lawrence and Orange counties, and portions of Monroe County.
