State Sen. Aaron Freeman to Chair Probate Code Study Commission

STATEHOUSE (June 22, 2020) – State Sen. Aaron Freeman (R-Indianapolis) will serve as Senate Chair for the Probate Code Study Commission to help prepare lawmakers for the 2021 legislative session.

He will also serve on the Interim Study Committee on Courts and the Judiciary and the Code Revision Commission.

"Working with the public and other members of the legislature over the interim gives us an opportunity to collectively research legislative solutions for issues facing Hoosiers," Freeman said. "I look forward to getting started in the coming weeks."

When Indiana’s part-time legislature is not in session, lawmakers serve on interim study committees that meet to review the state’s top issues, as identified by the General Assembly during the prior legislative session.

Study committee topics are assigned by the bipartisan Legislative Council, comprised of 16 voting members – eight from the Senate and eight from the House of Representatives.
