Statement from State Sen. Scott Baldwin
State Sen. Scott Baldwin (R-Noblesville) made the following statement today in response to
Gov. Eric Holcomb’s 2024 State of the State address:

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 9, 2024) – "I am pleased to see Gov. Holcomb highlight our state's achievements as we begin another legislative session. During his speech, the governor highlighted steps we've taken to improve mental health, and one of my bills this session is designed to help local communities continue to improve access to mental health care.

"Senate Bill 10 would establish a Community Cares Initiative Fund to assist in the cost of starting or building on mobile integrated health care programs and mobile crisis teams in Indiana. This would help those in crisis receive help more quickly by boosting funds for local health care organizations.

"I have also authored Senate Bill 39 which would provide that catastrophically disabled veterans may hunt on the same free hunting days as youth hunters. This bill gives autonomy, through hunting, to a selfless group of heroes who fought to protect our freedom.

"Lastly, as I chair the Senate Committee on Insurance and Financial Institutions, the fiscal state of Indiana remains at the forefront of my mind. Hoosiers work hard for their money, and I plan to support measures that help keep it in their pockets.

"I look forward to working with my fellow lawmakers this session to improve an already great Indiana."
