Senate Republicans offering multimedia internships

Monday, September 18, 2023

Applications for the Senate Republican Caucus internship program are open for the upcoming 2024 legislative session. One opportunity includes serving as a multimedia intern.

Multimedia interns are paired with the Senate Republicans Communications Office's Digital Communications Manager and work with press secretaries on regular assignments.

Tasks performed by multimedia interns include photography during session and committee hearings, videography, creating caucus handouts, developing visual content for the caucus website and helping with website management.

These interns can also work with senators and see how the public policies that impact the daily lives of Hoosiers are crafted in the Indiana General Assembly.

This position is great for, but not limited to, any student seeking or who has a telecommunications, journalism, photography or creative design experience.

Senate internships are full-time positions at the Statehouse that generally start with a mandatory orientation in late December and conclude at the end of the legislative session in March 2024.

Internships are open to any college student who is at least a sophomore, recent college graduate, graduate student or law school student.

Any Indiana resident and nonresident who attends an Indiana college or university can apply.

Interns earn a $900 biweekly stipend, gain valuable experience they can use on a resume, and have the potential to earn college credit.

The deadline to apply for the program is on Oct. 31.
