Senate Majority Internships - Multimedia

Tuesday, September 13, 2022

Applications are open for the Indiana Senate Republican internship program for the 2023 legislative session. One of these opportunities includes serving as a multimedia intern.

Multimedia interns grow their audiovisual and design skills while working with senators and other legislative staff at the Senate.

Some of the responsibilities of a multimedia intern include:

  • Serving as a photographer and videographer;
  • Monitoring online streaming of committees and session;
  • Creating visual content for print and web; and
  • Assisting in website management.

Kristen Gorski, who served as a multimedia intern during the 2020 session and now works full-time as the Digital Communications Specialist, said this about her experience:

"Being a multimedia intern in the Indiana Senate was a great experience. It allowed me to expand my skill base, as well as learn new things in my field and about state government. This opportunity has been like no other, and I would highly recommend it to any hardworking student looking for that next step into the workforce."

Interns earn an $800 biweekly stipend and benefit from scholarship and academic credit opportunities, professional development, community involvement, and networking.

Qualified candidates can be of any major and must be at least a college sophomore. Recent college graduates, as well as graduate and law school students, are encouraged to apply. Positions are open to Indiana residents, as well as nonresidents who attend a college or university in Indiana.

Senate internships are full-time positions at the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis that begin with a mandatory orientation in late December and conclude at the end of the legislative session in April 2023.

The deadline to apply is Oct. 31. To learn more about the different internship opportunities and to apply, visit www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Intern.
