Senate IT Internship Opportunity

Senate IT Internship Opportunity

Tuesday, July 23, 2024

The Indiana Senate is accepting internship applications for the 2025 legislative session.

This internship gives young professionals a great opportunity to learn about state government and the legislative process, as well as engage in their community and build their professional network.

One internship opportunity includes serving in the Senate's information technology (IT) office.

IT interns help senators and staff troubleshoot any technology issues that may arise during the session.

They also run cameras and other equipment during committee meetings so hearings can be livestreamed online.

The IT internship is ideal for any student with an informatics, computer science or technology background.

Other Senate internship opportunities include working in the communications, legal, legislative, page or policy offices during the upcoming session.

Candidates must be at least a college sophomore, recent college graduate, graduate student or law school student. Students and recent graduates with or seeking any degree can apply.

Those selected earn a $900 biweekly stipend and can gain scholarship and academic credit opportunities, professional development and networking.

Senate internships are full-time positions at the Statehouse in Indianapolis that typically start with a mandatory orientation in late December or early January and conclude at the end of the 2025 legislative session in April.

The deadline to apply for the internship program is Oct. 31.
