STATEHOUSE (Feb. 10, 2022) – State Sen. Jeff Raatz (R-Richmond) welcomed Ryan Wiggins, an Oldenburg Academy student from West Harrison, to the Statehouse as a Senate page in January.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor, and interacting with their state senator.
"I loved meeting Ryan and showing him how legislation is debated and voted on in the Senate," Raatz said. "I believe the page program is a wonderful learning experience for any young Hoosier interested in helping our community."
Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
