Sen. Koch welcomes local students to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (April 19, 2023) – State Sen. Eric Koch (R-Bedford) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in March.

  • Chesney Kinnick, from Nashville, attends Columbus Christian School
  • Ilyssa Nasir, from Ellettsville, attends St. Benedict Classical Catholic School
  • Matthew Nasir, from Ellettsville, attends St. Benedict Classical Catholic School
  • Gabriella Sarver, from Seymour, attends Seymour Middle School
  • Ephraim Wenz, from Bedford, attends Shawswick Elementary School

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"I'm always glad to welcome young Hoosiers to the Senate," Koch said. "This firsthand look at the legislative process is an experience unlike any other that builds on what they learn in the classroom."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
