Sen. Koch welcomes local student to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (March 8, 2023) – State Sen. Eric Koch (R-Bedford) welcomed Brownstown resident and Seymour High School student Sam Beavers to the Statehouse where he served as a Senate page in February.

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"The Senate Page Program provides young Hoosiers the opportunity to witness state government in action, and I look forward to welcoming these students to the Senate," Koch said. "Observing the legislative process firsthand is a unique experience that cannot be replicated in a classroom. I am glad Sam had this opportunity and look forward to meeting other students from Senate District 44 as they visit the Statehouse."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
