Sen. Koch welcomes local student to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb 20, 2023) – State Sen. Eric Koch (R-Bedford) welcomed Seymour resident and Seymour middle school student Lorelei Christiansen to the Statehouse where she served as a Senate page.

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"There's no better time to see state government in action than during the legislative session, and I'm always glad to welcome these young Hoosiers to the Senate," Koch said. "This firsthand look at the legislative process is an experience unlike any other and lays a foundation of understanding you can't get in a classroom."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
