Sen. Greg Walker welcomes local students to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 21, 2023) – State Sen. Greg Walker (R-Columbus) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in January.

• Jack Clark, from Franklin, attends Custer Baker Intermediate School
• Adeline Jolley, from Franklin, attends Greenwood Christian Academy
• Larkin Sempsrott, from Franklin, is a homeschooled student
• Aniket Singh, from Columbus, attends Southside Elementary School
• Patience Steele, from Whiteland, attends Whiteland High School

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"It is always a pleasure to welcome Hoosier students who have taken the time out of their school day to visit the Statehouse," Walker said. "Learning about the legislative process and state government is important and having the opportunity to see it first hand, I believe, is an unique experience."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
