Sen. Dernulc welcomes local students to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (March 14, 2024) – State Sen. Dan Dernulc (R-Highland) welcomed Valparaiso residents Audrey Donahue and Conner Donahue to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in February.

The Benjamin Franklin Middle School students spent a day at the statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with Dernulc.

"I'm always excited when I get to meet students from Northwest Indiana who take the time to come all the way down to the Statehouse to learn more about the legislative process," Dernulc said. "Thank you, Audrey and Conner, for visiting the Senate. I look forward to meeting more bright students from my district next session."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session groups serve on Wednesdays.
