Sen. Dernulc welcomes local student to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (March 13, 2023) – State Sen. Dan Dernulc (R-Highland) welcomed Ivy Ogrizovich, Dyer resident and Plum Creek Christian Academy student, to the Statehouse to serve as a Senate page in February.

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"This program is a great opportunity for all Hoosier students to learn about the legislative process and see what senators do in service of Indiana," Dernulc said. "I am always incredibly happy to welcome students to the Statehouse from Senate District 1, and I would like to thank Ivy for visiting and learning more about our wonderful state."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
