Sen. Delph to Return to Senate, Concludes Service in Puerto Rico

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 4, 2018) – In a letter released today, State Sen. Mike Delph (R-Carmel) announced he will return home from his service with the U.S. Army in Puerto Rico today, Jan. 4 and remain on active duty until Jan. 8. Sen. Delph expects to return to his service in the Senate Tuesday, Jan. 9.

In the letter, addressed to Senate President Pro Tem David Long (R-Fort Wayne), Sen. Delph states in part, “The leadership and dedication to duty displayed by our entire deployed team has been both a strong encouragement and reminder of the goodness of the American people. In times of need, we unite from all walks of life to help one another. It has been an honor to play a small role in this effort.

“ … Thank you very much for your support of my service to our nation and most importantly to our fellow American citizens who call the island of Puerto Rico home. This has been an invaluable experience for me as an American, a United States Army Reserve Officer, and a fellow citizen. I have no doubt this will stick with me for the rest of my life.”
