Sen. Bassler welcomes local students to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (March 9, 2023) – State Sen. Eric Bassler (R-Washington) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in February.

• Nick Bassler, from Washington, attends Washington Catholic Middle School
• Asher McDaniel, from Spencer, is a homeschooled student
• Eve McDaniel, from Spencer, is a homeschooled student
• Reuben McDaniel, from Spencer, is a homeschooled student
• Simeon McDaniel, from Spencer, is a homeschooled student
• Brody Voges, from Washington, attends Washington Catholic Middle School

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"In my role as a state senator, there's no greater pleasure than showing local students around the Statehouse and teaching them about state government," Bassler said. "The Senate Page Program is a great educational experience that allows students to witness our state government in action. I look forward to meeting more students from Senate District 39."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
