Sen. Alting welcomes local students to Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb 20, 2023) – State Sen. Ron Alting (R- Lafayette) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in January.

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"One of my favorite aspects of being a senator is meeting with constituents, especially our youngest Hoosiers looking to learn about how state government operates," Alting said. "The Senate Page Program offers a great opportunity for student throughout the state to meet their legislators and see firsthand how state government operates."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
