Applications are now open for the Next Generation Hoosier Educator Scholarship program, which assists high-achieving high school and college students planning to pursue a career in education in Indiana.

Administered by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (CHE), this renewable scholarship awards recipients up to $7,500 for up to four academic years totaling $30,000, or roughly one full year's worth of tuition. Qualified students must have either graduated in the top 20% of their high school class or earned a score in the top 20th percentile on the SAT or ACT. Students must also commit to teaching in Indiana for at least five years after graduation.

To continue earning the scholarship in college, students must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year, maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and complete at least 30 credit hours per year. Current college students must be able to use the scholarship for at least two full academic years if they apply.

Qualified students should apply through ScholarTrack at scholartrack.che.in.gov now until Jan. 31, 2023. The CHE will review all applications following the deadline and notify applicants of their scholarship status via email by March 24, 2023.

Having high-quality Hoosier educators in our classrooms is critical to providing an enriching education for our children. All high school and college students interested in teaching are encouraged to apply for this distinguished financial aid opportunity.
