Christmas is one of my favorite times of year. From Christmas Eve church services to generosity efforts, to holiday parties and reuniting with family and friends, it is certainly one of the best times of the year.
The holidays also give us an opportunity to pause and reflect on the many blessings we have.
One of those blessings is to have great first responders looking out for us. I want to thank all of our public safety officers and first responders who spend time away from their families to help ensure we are safe during the holiday season. May we never take their sacrifice for granted.
And while people may tend to get wrapped up in buying gifts, decorating and planning family gatherings, it is important to pause and remember that it was in a manger so long ago that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was born. For that I am truly grateful.
