Thanksgiving is the time of year when we reunite with family and friends to give thanks for all we hold dear.
These days though, it seems like our country has been more divided than ever. While that is troubling, it is why holidays like Thanksgiving are so important. They give us the opportunity to reset, bring us together and remind us that at the end of the day, we are all Americans.
Thanksgiving reminds us that we all play a part in making this country the greatest country on earth. Each year, just like the Pilgrims and their Native American neighbors all those years ago, we put our differences aside to sit down and enjoy a great meal and great company together.
I am thankful to live in this great state and great nation, and I am so grateful to work with people in the Senate who care about their communities just as much as I care about mine. We truly have a lot to be thankful for.
This Thanksgiving, I encourage you to turn away from the negativity, slow down and enjoy spending time with your loved ones, and think about all the things in your life that you are grateful for.
