STATEHOUSE (April 23, 2019) – A bill authored by State Sen. Jeff Raatz (R-Richmond) that would help track hunting guide services in Indiana recently passed the Senate and House of Representatives.

Senate Enrolled Act 363 would require those who serve as hunting guides to obtain a license to provide related services as well as require a hunting guide to report the previous month’s record of harvest game.

“As a growing industry in our state, it is important for Indiana to keep track of the hunting guide services provided in our communities, which this bill would accomplish,” Raatz said. “I believe this bill will have a positive impact on the hunting industry in our state.”

SEA 363 would also allow the Indiana Department of Natural Resources to adopt and enforce related rules.

Raatz authored this legislation in response to concerns brought forward by a constituent.

SEA 363 will now move to the governor for further consideration.
