Purdue Northwest student gains experience at Indiana Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb 8, 2023) – Zachary Lamberta is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2023 legislative session, said State Sen. Dan Dernulc (R-Highland).

Lamberta, a resident of Bradley, Illinois, is the son of Dominic Lamberta and Amy Hivick. He graduated from Bradley-Bourbonnais High School and is a sophomore at Purdue University Northwest studying political science.

"I am grateful for all the interns that have taken the time to learn about the legislative process and serve our state," Dernulc said. "This is a great experience that provides interns the opportunity to work closely with legislators and I commend Lamberta on his professionalism and work ethic while learning about state government."

As a legislative intern, Lamberta tracks and analyzes bill data, provides constituent services, staffs Senate committee hearings and meetings, and conducts legislative policy research.

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end in April.
