Providing support for mothers and their babies

Providing support for mothers and their babies

Tuesday, May 9, 2023

Thanks to a partnership between the Indiana Department of Health, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration and the Indiana Department of Child Services, the My Healthy Baby program is now accessible to mothers and their babies in all 92 counties.

The program connects Medicaid-enrolled pregnant women with free home visiting and community support services throughout their pregnancy and baby's first year of life.

The program has connected more than 12,000 women to local support services through programs like the Nurse-Family Partnership and Healthy Families.

Healthy pregnancies and healthy babies will always be a priority for Senate Republicans. In 2022, Senate Enrolled Act 2 (ss) allocated $87 million to expand family-support programs in Indiana, and this year, House Enrolled Act 1001 allocated an additional $87 million to these programs - $6.6 million appropriated to My Healthy Baby.

Eligible women can be referred to My Healthy Baby by a provider or can refer themselves by clicking here or calling 844-624-6667.
