Applications to intern with the Indiana Senate Republicans are now open for the 2027 legislative session.
This internship gives college students and recent graduates an opportunity to learn about state government, experience the legislative process and build their professional network.
The press secretary internship is ideal for those interested in a communications career and looking to sharpen their writing, editing and communication skills.
Press secretary interns are paired with a full-time press secretary to assist with writing, photography, graphic design and media relations, helping shape how state senators communicate with the public and media.

Interns earn a $900 biweekly stipend, are eligible to earn academic credit through their college or university, and can apply for academic scholarships through the Verizon Communications and Senator David Ford Scholarship Funds.
Eligibility
This internship is open to college sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as recent college graduates, graduate students or law students. All majors are accepted.
This is a full-time, in-person spring semester internship at the Statehouse in Indianapolis that typically begins in late December or early January and concludes at the end of the 2027 legislative session, which by law must end on or before April 29.
Application Deadline
The deadline to apply for the internship program is Oct. 31.
