Policy Internship with the Indiana Senate Republicans

Young professionals who have an interest in public policy, research and the lawmaking process should consider applying for the policy internship with the Indiana Senate Republican Caucus.

This full-time paid internship provides students and recent graduates with a unique opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the legislative process and work directly with state lawmakers.

What Policy Interns Do

As part of the Senate Republican Policy Office, interns will take an active role in researching legislation, analyzing legislative proposals, reviewing communications or other materials for policy accuracy and more. Daily responsibilities include:

  • Conducting legislative and policy research to support senators' work;
  • Tracking legislative proposals throughout the session;
  • Attending Senate committee hearings;
  • Reviewing material for policy accuracy; and
  • Writing policy memos on key legislation.
