Northridge High School graduate gains experience at Indiana Statehouse

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 11, 2026) — Nicholas Beaver is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2026 legislative session, said State Sen. Blake Doriot (R-Goshen).

Beaver, a resident of Elkhart, is the son of Mitchell and Dana Beaver. Beaver graduated from Northridge High School and is a sophomore at Purdue University studying political science and law and society.

"It's great to have a local student like Nick participating in the Senate internship program. Our interns help us a lot during session and their work is crucial to the flow of the legislative process," Doriot said. "This is a great opportunity for young people to learn about our state government and prepare them for future careers."

As a legislative intern, Beaver tracks and analyzes bill data, provides constituent services, staffs Senate committee hearings and meetings, and conducts legislative policy research.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute, even in a small way, to the important work of the Indiana Senate and to support the members as they serve and represent Hoosiers across the state," Beaver said.

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to conclude by the end of February.
