Media Advisory: Say’s Firefly Bill to be Heard in Public Policy Committee

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 31, 2018) ― State Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) said his bill that would name the Say’s Firefly as Indiana’s official state insect will be heard in the Senate Committee on Public Policy today, Jan. 31, at 1:30 p.m.

WHAT:    Senate Bill 236 would designate Pyractomena angulata, also known as "Say's Firefly," as the official state insect of Indiana.

WHO:     Alting will present SB 236, and students from Cumberland and Happy Hollow Elementary Schools will testify on the bill.

WHEN:   Today, Jan. 31, 1:30 p.m.
