STATEHOUSE (March 6, 2017) – State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg) sponsored a resolution to recognize volunteer firefighters in front of the full Senate this week.
House Concurrent Resolution 32 honors volunteer firefighters who have served for 50 or more years.
“These people do so much for our communities,” Leising said. “They bravely risk their lives to ensure our safety, and we need to show our appreciation.”
Prior to being recognized by the full Senate, Leising participated in a separate ceremony to honor the volunteers individually. She awarded each person with a certificate for their service.
“I am proud of all of the volunteer firefighters in our state, and am grateful for the sacrifices they make,” she said.
