Legal Internship with the Indiana Senate Republicans

Legal Internship with the Indiana Senate Republicans

Monday, October 27, 2025

The Indiana Senate Republican Caucus is accepting applications for its 2026 legislative session internship program, including an opportunity for young professionals interested in the legal matters of state government.

The legal internship is ideal for those considering a career path in law, government and public policy. Legal interns will assist Senate attorneys and staff in maintaining the legal framework that supports Indiana's legislative process and the day-to-day operations of the Senate.

Legal interns will play a role in:

  • Conducting legal and policy research to help senators make informed decisions;
  • Drafting and filing Senate motions and resolutions;
  • Summarizing amendments and conference committee reports to ensure accuracy and transparency; and
  • Helping create the daily legislative schedule, a vital document that helps keeps the Senate running.

This full-time, paid internship is open to undergraduate sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as recent graduates, graduate students and law students from all majors. Positions are in-person at the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis, beginning with a mandatory orientation in late December or early January and concluding at the end of the 2026 legislative session.

Internship applications are open now through Oct. 31. To apply and learn more, click here
