Indiana University student gains experience at Indiana Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 14, 2024) – Paige Fowler is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2024 legislative session, said State Sen. Eric Koch (R-Bedford).

Fowler, a resident of Seattle, Washington, is the daughter of Robin and Dirk Fowler. Paige is a junior at Indiana University Bloomington studying political science and broadcasting.

"The Senate internship program offers college students a great opportunity to learn valuable professional skills before they graduate," Koch said "I am happy to see our local students develop valuable professional skills during their internship."

As a press secretary intern, Fowler tracks legislation and media coverage, writes news releases and op-eds, creates e-communication and social media strategies, and works with members of media.

"I am pleased to serve the senators of the great state of Indiana, and I have enjoyed learning about the legislature through this opportunity," Fowler said.

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end by March 14.
