Bedford native gains experience at Indiana Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 14, 2024) – Harrison Parker is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2024 legislative session, said State Sen. Eric Koch (R-Bedford).

Parker, a resident of Bedford, is the son of Matthew and Alicia Parker. Parker graduated from Hanover College in 2023 with a degree in history.

"The Senate internship provides recent college students an amazing opportunity to become more active in state government and develop valuable professional skills," said Koch. " I am happy to see our local students gain experience during the session."

As a legislative intern, Parker tracks and analyzes bill data, provides constituent services, staffs Senate committee hearings and meetings, and conducts legislative policy research.

"I am grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than myself and to try to help make the state a better place," Parker said.

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end by March 14.
