at Indiana Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 3, 2023) – Kurtis Karg is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2023 legislative session, said State Sen. Eric Koch (R-Bedford).

Karg, a resident of Bloomington, is the son of Karl Karg and Ninnette Gregory. He graduated from Glenbard West High School in Illinois and is a junior at Indiana University-Bloomington studying journalism and public policy.

"This internship gives college students and recent graduates a wonderful opportunity to be closely involved in the legislative process," Koch said. "Interns have a huge role in the daily operations of the Senate, and I'm grateful for Kurtis' dedication to public service by working here during the legislative session."

As a press secretary intern, Karg writes news releases, columns and e-newsletters, takes photos of session, and helps correspond with members of the media.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside so many bright minds who have the same common goal – serving Hoosiers the best they can,” Karg said.

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end in April.
