Grooms to serve on national and regional committees

STATEHOUSE (April 2, 2019) — State Sen. Ron Grooms (R-Jeffersonville) has been nominated by Indiana Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) to serve as a member of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Early Learning Fellows program as well as The Council of State Governments (CSG) Midwestern Legislative Conference Health and Human Services Committee during 2019 and 2020.

As a member of the NCSL Early Learning Fellows Program, Grooms will work with other legislators to identify action steps as part of a practical early learning plan as well as be a part of a peer learning environment, fostering the exchange of ideas and solutions related to early learning and the opportunity gap.

Additionally, as a member of the CSG Midwestern Legislative Conference Health and Human Services Committee, Grooms will meet with other legislators to discuss policy issues related to healthcare and wellness.

“I am honored President Pro Tem Bray selected me to represent our caucus by serving in these roles,” Grooms said. “Early learning and healthcare are two topics I am passionate about, and I look forward to discussing these important matters with other legislators.”
