Grooms to chair Senate Committee on Family and Children Services

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 12, 2018) – State Sen. Ron Grooms (R-Jeffersonville) has been appointed by Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) to chair the Senate Committee on Family and Children Services for the 121st Indiana General Assembly.

“It is a privilege to serve as chair of the Senate Committee on Family and Children Services for another legislative session,” Grooms said. “I am looking forward to working with my fellow legislators and industry experts as we continue to search for ways to ensure our children are safe and have the resources they need to succeed.”

Grooms will also serve as ranking member of the Senate Committee on Elections and as a member of the Senate Committees on Health and Provider Services; Local Government; and Public Policy.

The 2019 legislative session ceremonially began Tuesday, Nov. 20, with Organization Day. Legislators will reconvene Jan. 3 and, by law, must conclude the legislative session no later than April 29.
