Gov. Braun signs Goode's bill to modernize area agencies on aging

STATEHOUSE (July 2, 2025) — A bill sponsored by State Sen. Greg Goode (R-Terre Haute) to modernize the state's area agencies on aging was ceremonially signed into law on July 1 by Gov. Mike Braun.

House Enrolled Act 1391 also allows the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration Secretary to establish a Medicaid diversion pilot program in western Indiana that would evaluate the effectiveness of home modification and telehealth provided by agencies to work toward reducing Medicaid expenditures.

"I would like to thank Thrive West Central CEO Ryan Keller for his work to help advance this legislation through the General Assembly this year," Goode said. "HEA 1391 will ensure our state's agencies on aging are prepared for the future and find new ways to cut down on Medicaid costs while maintaining the high-quality services Hoosiers rely on."

Goode encourages residents of Senate District 38 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have. Goode can be reached by filling out a "Contact Me" form online at www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Goode or by phone at 800-382-9467.
