Goode sworn in as Senate District 38 state senator

STATEHOUSE (Nov. 1, 2023) — State Sen. Greg Goode (R-Terre Haute) was sworn in as state senator of Senate District 38 by Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loreta Rush in the Senate Chamber today, Wednesday, Nov. 1.

Goode succeeds former State Sen. Jon Ford, who resigned from his position effective Monday, Oct. 16. Goode will finish the remainder of Ford's term through November of 2026, serving Vigo and Clay counties and northeastern Sullivan County.

"I am pleased to be given the opportunity to represent the Wabash Valley in the Indiana Senate," Goode said. "I look forward to meeting with constituents throughout the district as I consider legislation that will make Indiana an even greater place to live, work and raise a family."

Goode is the state director for U.S. Sen. Todd Young. Prior to serving in this role, he was the executive director of government relations and university communication for Indiana State University (ISU).

In recent years, he helped improve West Central Indiana by helping form the Wabash River Regional Development Authority (WRRDA) and working with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and local leaders to implement the READI grant program in the area.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in political science and a Master of Arts in history from ISU and performed graduate studies at the Pentagon through Catholic University of America. He is currently pursuing a doctorate degree from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

As a local leader, Goode received the ISU President's Medallion, ISU Jones Award, Indiana Principal Leadership Award for Service and the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce Building Community Award on behalf of the WRRDA.

Constituents can contact Goode by phone at 800-382-9467, by email at Senator.Goode@iga.in.gov or by mail at 200 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46204.
