Indiana has many resources and services available for Hoosier military veterans. However, it can often be difficult to navigate the system and know what is available. For that reason, I co-authored Senate Enrolled Act 15 this session.
The law requires the Indiana Department of Labor to work with the Indiana Department of Veteran's Affairs to create and distribute veteran benefits and services posters to Hoosier employers.
The following benefits and services are included on the posters:
In addition, this year I supported Senate Enrolled Act 49, which allows catastrophically disabled veterans to hunt on the same free hunting days as youth hunters, and House Enrolled Act 1021, which created a "green alert" to provide notice to the public when at-risk veterans go missing and strengthen our existing institutions to assist in finding them.
If you are a military veteran, you deserve the highest gratitude for protecting our freedoms and serving our country, and providing these services is the least we can do.
