Garten welcomes local students to Statehouse as Senate pages

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

STATEHOUSE (March 4, 2026) – State Sen. Chris Garten (R-Charlestown) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages.

  • Marlo Bartlett, from Jeffersonville, attends Jeffersonville High School
  • Ellie Fifer, from Jeffersonville, attends Oldham County (KY) High School
  • Austin Franklin, from Sellersburg, attends Silver Creek High School
  • Evangeline Hill, from Jeffersonville, attends River Valley Middle School
  • Viviana Hill, from Jeffersonville, attends Jeffersonville High School
  • Emily Jacobs, from Charlestown, attends Charlestown High School
  • Richard Marshall, from Clarksville, attends Community Montessori (pictured with Sen. Rodric Bray (R- Martinsville)

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.

"I enjoy meeting students who are eager to learn about the legislative process in their state," Garten said. "The Senate Page Program gives them first hand experience of what we do in the Senate and at the Statehouse. I encourage every student to take advantage of this opportunity."

Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session.

The 2026 Senate Page program has now ended. Parents interested in learning more about the program should visit www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Page-Program. Applications for the 2027 program will be available at the end of 2026.
