STATEHOUSE (Sept. 5, 2025) — The Indiana Senate Republican Caucus is now accepting applications for paid, spring-semester internships during the 2026 session of the Indiana General Assembly, according to State Sen. Chris Garten (R-Charlestown). Internships are available in the Senate’s communications, information technology, legal, legislative, page, and policy offices.
Applicants must be at least college sophomores, but recent graduates and students enrolled in graduate or law school are encouraged to apply. Applicants can be of any major.
Interns receive a $900 biweekly stipend and gain valuable experience through professional development, networking, and scholarship and academic credit opportunities.
These full-time internships take place at the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis and typically run from a mandatory orientation in late December or early January through the end of the legislative session in March 2026.
"Throughout my time in the Senate, I have seen firsthand how much these internships can shape a young person's future," Garten said. "Many former interns have gone on to successful careers, and I encourage anyone interested to apply for this great opportunity."
